Pulse Cannons

I can't tell if I love these things or not, they're fuckin' weird. Iza is a huge proponent though (can't imagine why).

Think of like, an invisible hammer, but it’s a ranged weapon. Hurts my lizard brain.
It's like an energy weapon, but y'know… it ain't. Anyway, pulse guns, or pulse cannons, are when you want to completely annihilate something far away, but feel that ammo prices are too high to make it a good financial decision. Enter a weapon platform that eschews solid projectiles in favor of a "sound" or "pressure" blast.

Each pulse weapon totes with it a miniature generator/power pack that serves as the ammo source, with the power packs (we started callin' em "burners") being disposable. So, unlike a charged shell, the local base arms master won't beat you into a medically induced coma because you forgot to recover them after a fight.

We usually field these when we want to wipe out wide swaths of enemies, so they’re absolutely fantastic when it comes to handling swarms or overwhelming hordes. The other usage is that they tend to completely ignore whatever armor your target is wearing, and this extends into carapaces if we’re talking about creatures.
Internal organs and bones really, really dislike the sudden pressure lash even when you’ve got a few layers of insulation between them and the harm a pulse cannon is putting out. For humanoids, or anything with a sense of hearing, a pulse cannon blast will permanently deafen them outright if they lack any kind of hearing protection. If they have a sense of balance like we do, that gets absolutely blown away as well, sometimes permanently. The sound these make when firing is the scariest shit imaginable, and that’s when you aren’t on the receiving end.

Even if someone is running towards you with full battle rattle, one trigger pull from a pulse cannon will make their bones explode. Shame it costs so damn much to make the weapon in the first place.

Here’s the classes of pulse cannon we have:

Stomper

Heaviest class, used by Glacier, Wyroks, superheavy tanks, and base defenses.

Slammer

Elite class, used by Wyroks, tanks, and base defenses.

Tackler

High end class, used by spec ops, Heavy Vanguards, tanks and drones.

Bouncer

Professional class, used by specialists, Heavy Vanguards and drones.

Shover

Baseline class, used by legionnaires, Heavy Vanguards and drones.
